– Head of the UN working group Verene Shepherd investigating Black Peter, Santa Claus’ mythical personal assistant proposed to abolish Christmas parties after saying that the figure is insulting, offensive, racist and a return to slavery. After a real protest wave, Representative of the UN Human Rights Council Xabier Celaya ensures that it will not happen. In an interview with De Morgen, he reiterated that the UN is not responsible for the criticism of Miss Shepherd on Black Peter.
