The Order of the Knights of Rizal’s 5th European Regional Assembly held in Firenze and Rome, Italy on 28-31 August was a success. Supreme Commander Sir Jeremias Singson opened the ceremony and welcome remarks has been given by Philippine Ambassador to Italy KGOR Sir Virgilio Reyes, Jr. Sir Rudy Nollas, KGOR delivered the regional commander’s report. Delegates include the Kababaihang Rizalista Brussels Chapter headed by Founder-Adviser Lady Antonina Fernandez, KRI Modena & Cannes Chapters, and Las Damas de Rizal Brussels & Firenze Chapters. The 4-day assembly with a theme “Rizal’s Heritage Trail in Italy” was hosted by Knights Of Rizal Firenze and Rome Chapters.

In Rome, delegates and guests re-enacted the trail of Dr. Jose Rizal’s visit on 27 June 1887  from the Coliseum, Forum Romanum, Capitolio, Roca Taperya, Palatinum, the Pantheon, Museum Capitolinum, the church of Santa Maria, the maggiore and Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Just like Rizal, after touring the city the whole day, all delegates were very tired. Returning to their hotels, they also said, “Tired like a dog but sleeping as a god”.
