Horseback patrolling, effective!

DZIQ 990 AMThe federal police started to horseback patrol in Belgian coastlines. Two officers on horseback will also patrol the residential areas, on trails unreachable by police cars, or in the dunes. This weekend they have tested it extensively and found it so effective.

–  Actress Mimi Kok died Saturday at 80 in Amsterdam as reported by her biographer. Cook died of a lung disease. 
Born in Amsterdam, she was discovered at a young age by Toon Hermans. She played both comic and serious roles.
Cook starred in ‘Pension Harm’, ‘Paranoia’, then the infamous “Blue Movie”, “Can you tell me the way to Hamelin Sir” and “Red Sien”. She was also one of the regular forces of Wim T. Schippers in the role of Ge Roasting pan, wife of nightclub owner Waldo van Dungen, a role in Sjef van Oekel & the VPRO series Waldolala.

–  During the last Easter holidays, there were a fifth less ski accidents than last year. According to figures from the VAB travel assistance service, there were 19 percent fewer medical interventions compared to last year. The decrease is partly caused by vacationers who flock to the sun instead of going to the snow. The number of patients in sunny countries has increased. For example, Spain climbs up from fourth to second place in the top five medical interventions.

–  At least seven people were killed Sunday in a crash of a small plane carrying amateur parachutists in southwestern Finland. Three of the paratroopers jumped off the plane shortly before the crash. A number of passengers are still being sought. The propeller plane Comp Air 8, according to the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat had eleven people on board, crashed down from a great height in a forest near the airport Jämijärvi. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
