European Union ministers are seeking a political settlement in Ukraine after gun battles between police and anti-government protesters resulted the death of 75 people since Tuesday afternoon clashes. That was by far the worst violence since Ukraine emerged from the crumbling Soviet Union 22 years ago. The EU delegation composed of ministers from Germany, France and Poland, started the marathon talk on Thursday morning and embarked on “a night of difficult negotiations” with President Viktor Yanukovich and the opposition leader Vitaly Klitschko, who said he hoped for a deal overnight, but added there was no clear result so far.

Goodbye Chanel No. 5
The European Commission plans to ban one of the world famous perfumes, the luxury perfume Chanel No. 5 due to its chemical substances ethanol and chloro ethanol and HICC or lyral, a floral scent of lily and cyclamen. The first two are better known as tree and oak moss. The fragrance might be the cause of skin and respiratory allergies. The EU estimates that 1 to 3 percent of the European population suffers from the said allergies. Neven Mimica, the EU Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, said that the ban in principle could be approved. There will be a transitional period for the manufacturers till 2015.
